He describes his career as a "vertical learning curve" - from guiding the major commercial real estate organisation Colliers Jardine through the "post property crash" environment of the 1990's to engineering substantial performance turnarounds at Kerry Packer's ACP Media in New Zealand and subsequently, Kiwi icon Canterbury International!
He describes his strengths as dealing with change, leadership, managing teams of people and customer focus. In addition, he has a good sales and marketing background and is strong on finance and legal matters. He has worked in New Zealand, Australia, and Europe and although not based there, he has experience in Asia.
He is a highly regarded business communicator assisting service organisations to maximise their profitability through focusing on what he calls the “7 Principles of Profit” and is one of New Zealand’s leading conference keynote speakers.
Bruce chose to take a sabbatical during 2005 and spent much of that time on an extended trip to Europe with his family. He recently returned to the corporate sector as the CEO of Gullivers Travel Group in New Zealand, immediately prior to that Company being taken over by S8.
Bruce has been working on a range of commercial projects for corporate clients in Australia and New Zealand. He’s the Chairman of Noel Leeming Group and a Member of the Advisory Board of Gresham Private Equity in Australia.
